Becoming a Partner

To become a partner an organisation or individual is expected to be active on behalf of a healthy and fulfilling childhood for the children of the world. This can be made manifest in many forms, from research and advocacy to a local practitioner or occasional volunteer, from grandparent to Professor of Education. Every partner is expected to work and conduct themselves in accord with the Convention on the Rights of the Child adopted by the United Nations General Assembly November 1989.

To register as a partner a personal conversation has to take place between the putative partner and an existing one, after which they will be recommended for inclusion. Initially the International Communications Group will handle the registration but as the Alliance grows this will quickly be part of the responsibility of local and regional coordinating groups, as is already the case in the USA, Germany, Brazil, Sweden, South Africa and Switzerland.

The Alliance has no membership or subscription structure but can only exist with the active support of partners and friends. All partner organisations, whether existing already or newly formed for this purpose, should find and establish whatever system suits their goals the best.
