Fair Play for Children exists to promote the Child's Right to Play as contained in Article 31 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child:

States Parties ... recognize the right of the child to rest and leisure, to engage in play and recreational activities appropriate to the age of the child and to participate freely in cultural life and the arts ... shall respect and promote the right of the child to participate fully in cultural and artistic life and shall encourage the provision of appropriate and equal opportunities for cultural, artistic, recreational, and leisure activity.

September 08:  e-petition to make the provision of play services a statutory obligation for local authorities in the UK. Fair Play supports this Petition, it is vital that a proper, funded infrastructure, financed from tax revenue, is created for Children's Play to replace the ad-hoc and sporadic, post-code lottery systems now in place.
