International Seminar “The Paths of Childhood: Current Situation and Perspectives”

July 11 and 12, 2007 – SESC Vila Mariana

Considering the major concern about childhood all around the world - and the difficulties found to raise people’s consciousness and to attempt to improve the quality of life of this population segment - SESC São Paulo and the Alliance for Childhood in Brazil come forward to propose the execution of the Seminar The Paths of Childhood: Current Situation and Perspectives.

The main objective of this meeting is to promote a discussion among the most diverse agents that work with infants (educators, caretakers, art educators, cultural producers, managers, doctors and parents, among others) about the problems found in the childhood field; the idea is to create a culture of respect for the children’s rights.

Brazilian and foreign lecturers and specialists will analyze current issues and future perspectives involving major items related to childhood such as defense of rights, vulnerability, violence and peace culture, infant languages, formal and non-formal spaces, infant cultures, education, arts, family and integral health.
