Policy Forums and Seminar Series

Roehampton University Policy Forum Meetings

Childhood: Therapeutic and Educational Perspectives’

Research Centre for Therapeutic Education

in association with:

Centre for Beliefs, Rights and Values in Education,

and

Early Childhood Research Centre

This innovative series of Policy Forum seminars takes forward the themes first explored at Roehampton University last December when the university’s Research Centre for Therapeutic Education hosted a participative day-seminar with signatories to the September 2006 Daily Telegraph ‘toxic childhood’ letter and prominent shadow ministers from the political parties. The dialogues about core educational issues that took place in December are now being extended and deepened in this new series, in which major academic, professional and political figures in the broad education field will explore together some of the key policy issues that currently face educationalists and policy-makers, with the aim of clarifying and informing the key policy debates which promise to dominate educational policy-making in the coming years.
