Dear Early arts Friends and Colleagues
Just to let you know that the opportunity is available once again for artists, pedagogues and early educators to go and work with La Baracca Theatre Company for three days, and participate in their early years theatre festival for longer, in March 3rd to the 6th) 2009. The details are attached, but you need to send in applications from October 1st to be considered for a place and as there is stiff competition for only 20 places, better earlier than later.
The training programme this year consists of the opportunity to exchange ideas with artists, pedagogues and educators involved in the project Theatre and nursery schools; visits to the nursery schools of Bologna; discussing ideas within the project "Theatrical Scribbles", the innovative path of theatrical workshops for children under three years created and developed by the nursery educators of the Municipality of Bologna together with the artists of La Baracca-Testoni Ragazzi; taking part in a practical workshop during which the approach adopted for the project "Theatrical Scribbles" will be represented; visiting other educational centres specialising in art and early childhood; watching shows created by several European companies for children from 0 to 3 and from 3 to 6; visiting the documentation centre of the Municipality of Bologna; take part in the festival conferences and presentations; and taking part in the International Forum Theatre for toddlers, which will involve artists, researchers and teachers from different countries and enjoy performances dedicated exclusively to the Forum participants.
The training costs 100 Euros (approx £65) plus travel, and successful applicants may wish to apply to their local authority or the Arts Council for a CPD grant to cover the costs. Interested parties should contact La Baracca directly (see website) and also copy their applications to Ruth Churchill Dower on ruth(at)isaacsuk.co.uk so that earlyarts can support successful applicants at this end. Please see attached programme and details on how to apply.
Kind regards
Susan Hirst
